1. Reservation

a) A ten percent (10%) deposit is required to secure a reservation. To find out how and to what extent you or your travel agent can protect your deposit/payment at no additional cost to you click on this link to learn about the Shelby Financial Corporation Travel Money Protection Plan.
b) With your final payment please send photocopies of your party's passports so that we can complete bookings in China. When confirming receipt of your deposit we will send a trip dossier with further information about baggage allowances, appropriate clothing, vaccinations etc. As soon as your party's visa numbers are available please also send these.
c) A valid passport and visa are the responsibility of the traveler. Please leave plenty of time for this process.
d) Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure date. For bookings made within 90 days of the departure date, the entire cost of the trip must be paid at the time of booking. Should fewer than 6 people have signed up for the group tour 45 days before the departure date, Imperial Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour.

2. Cancellation Charges

a) Cancellations of 90 days or more prior to departure will be subject to a $500 per person cancellation fee; 89-60 days prior to departure will be subject to 20% of the tour price per person; 59-30 days prior to departure will be 50% of the tour price per person, and 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of the tour price per person.  A 100% cancellation charge applies to internal air cancelled less than 90 days prior to departure, where applicable.
b) All notices of cancellation must be written to be effective. The date of cancellation will be the date of reception by Imperial Tours' personnel.
c) Private tours are priced with respect to the number of travelers. In the event of one or more cancellations from a private tour, the group as a whole is responsible for subsequent cancellation charges. These will vary according to the pre-departure notice period and the number of cancellations.

3. Travel Insurance

The traveler undertakes to effect adequate travel insurance including provision for cancellation, hospitalization and medical expenses, repatriation and loss of baggage. Please note that Imperial Tours' and its suppliers' staff are not trained in first aid.

4. Claims and Refunds

Except for verifiable extenuating circumstances refunds are not made for any missed tour services. For verifiable claims to be considered they must be received in writing within 30 days of the termination of the tour and be accompanied by supporting documentation. Any adjustment considered will be based on the actual cost of the services involved and not on a per diem basis. Adjustments will not be made for unused sightseeing trips or meals. Imperial Tours will not accept liability for any claims that are not received within 30 days of the termination of your tour.

5. Limits of Responsibility

Imperial Tours purchases transportation, hotel accommodation, restaurant services and other services from various independent suppliers that are not subject to its control. Imperial Tours cannot, therefore, be liable for any damage which may occur due to (1) any act or omission of such a supplier, or (2) defects in failures of any aircraft, vessel, automotive vehicle or other means of transportation that is not under its control. The transportation companies shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any detention, delay, loss damage, sickness or injury however and by whomever caused. Imperial Tours shall not be liable to the clients for any loss or damage to any luggage or other injury or illness suffered by the client provided that Imperial Tours has exercised due care and attention. Imperial Tours reserves the right to adjust prices without notice to reflect fluctuation(s) in the Foreign Exchange markets. Imperial Tours also reserves the right to withdraw a tour or any part of it, to make such alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary or desirable, to refuse to accept or to retain as a member of the tour any person at any time, and to pass on to tour members any expenditures or losses caused by delays or events beyond its control. The tour price does not include meals not specified in the itinerary, laundry, liquor, excess baggage charges, usage of telephones, personal, health or baggage insurance, items of a personal nature and any items not specifically listed as included.

6. Photography on Tour

Imperial Tours reserves the right to take photographs throughout the duration of the tour or part thereof, and to use the resulting photographs to promote Imperial Tours services. By booking a tour with Imperial Tours, tour members agree to allow their images to be used in such photographs. Tour members who prefer that their images not be used are asked to identify themselves to the tour director at the beginning of the tour.
